New Jingles
Consistency means business for OmniAmerican Credit Union in the Dallas-Fort Worth area..."the best of the west." Since coming to TM Century for their first jingle a number of years ago, OmniAmerican Credit Union has used jingles to pound home their tag line "The Best Of The West". A consistent advertiser, OmniAmerican has seen phenomenal growth in part due to the consistency of their brand message.

As we noted in the December 2002 newsletter, advertisers who stick with a consistent message over a long period of time see substantially better results than those who change their message frequently. But how do you stay fresh, when you're a very heavy and consistent advertiser?

One way is to expand on your theme by creating a "campaign" of musical images. Below you'll find a series of jingles that OmniAmerican is using to build brand dominance in the D/FW area.

Each of these four jingles is evocative of a decade.  OmniAmerican's copy in each points to a simpler time when banking was more convenient, more personal and more comfortable.  Of course, this campaign could also work well for any client, be it a car dealer or a bank, that wants to project "old fashioned values and service."

Traveling Blues
Saw this piece of research on the RAB's website: "The Travel Industry Association (TIA) is expecting a slight decline in travel during spring 2003, with war emerging as the primary reason Americans are staying close to home."

"In the short term, leisure travel will continue to be depressed as U.S. travelers are more reluctant to commit," remarked Dr. Suzanne Cook, senior vice president of research for the TIA. "They are postponing trip planning and waiting until the last minute to book their trips. The concern is how long this trend will last, as now is the time most Americans begin to make their summer vacation travel plans."

TIA estimates that Americans will take 234.4 million personal trips during March, April, and May 2003 - a decrease of 1.6 percent over last spring - and business travel will decline 2.5 percent from spring 2002 (and 13 percent from spring 2001). TIA found that despite the attacks of September 11, 2001, and the weakened economy, leisure travel has grown steadily until the projected decline for spring 2003."

When the pie is shrinking, in this case the total number of travelers, savvy clients know they need to increase their advertising in order to increase their market share. Here are a couple of great jingles that your local travel agencies can use to boost their sales in a soft economy.
