Back To School season is here! Below are two category campaigns that can be used for an individual store, a mall, or a group of merchants who want to pool their resources into one campaign...for instance a local shoe store working in tandem with a local clothing store.

Get The Picture?
Image is everything. And much of an advertiser's image is created 'in context.' I was watching CNN the other night and saw two of most poorly produced local spots I have ever seen in my life. They seemed especially bad in context and in comparison to the powerful creative the national advertisers we're throwing on the screen.

Consumers don't recognize any difference between a national spot and a local spot. All they "perceive" is that one looks cheesy and the others don't. And who wants to have their advertising send the message "we're cheesy?". Weak creative is the advertising equivalent of showing up at a black tie dinner in jeans and a t-shirt.

Few local advertisers can afford to drop $500,000 to produce a national quality spot, but there are things they can do to help achieve "creative parity." And, of course, one of those things is to use a national quality jingle in their spots.

Beyond branding, recall, and punch... jingles also "dress up" a spot and give it a professional feel. Just as dressing professionally helps you project a personal image of professionalism...dressing up your clients in world-class creative gives them "creative parity" with the McDonald's and Coca-Colas of the world.
